What do you think? From emerging trends to the latest business principles, Furniture News is setting out to gauge the trade’s feelings on a variety of industry-specific topics. Today, we’re asking our panel: Which furniture website does it best?
Brian McCann (DFI Beds): I love the work of Happy Beds – clean, crisp and vibrant
Daryl Drylie (ID Agencies): I suppose the bigger players have more money to invest, but it’s clear that more and more retailers are also spending greatly on their websites to maximise all opportunities and sales possibilities. We’re constantly being asked for top-quality hi-res images and lifestyle photos to help, and the editing capabilities available today are fantastic!
Nathan Edwards (The Furniture Consultant): It’s hard to single out one website as the best since many excel in different areas. An ecommerce website should offer an intuitive and user-friendly interface, extensive product selection, high-quality images and detailed descriptions, customer reviews, easy navigation, robust search functionality, responsive customer service, flexible return policies, and innovative features like augmented reality (AR) for visualisation. Combining these elements help make a website stand out in the competitive online furniture market
Ashley Hainsworth (Flair Furniture): Bedkingdom.co.uk!
Phil Gant (PG Agencies): Oakworld.co.uk is a fabulous site. Abacus also produce great websites for retailers
Hamish Mansbridge (Heal’s): Obviously I’d like to think that Heal’s does … but clearly there are lots of young pretenders to the crown. You have to try to stay ahead of the game, both in design and inspiration, but also in tools to help customers, and ensuring that when they do want to purchase the journey is as easy and straightforward as it can be
Anthony Joyce (Wolf Components): I think Bensons does a good job
