OKA re-platforms with Shopify

Home interiors brand OKA has re-platformed its ecommerce business with Shopify.

Launched last month, the brand’s new ecommerce site offers customers "a more seamless" user experience, while streamlining the business’ back-end operations across product and inventory data, sales, orders and fulfilment.

OKA says the re-platforming was part of its ambition to grow its online presence in the UK alongside its bricks-and-mortar estate.

Earlier this year, OKA opened a new outlet store close to Bicester Village and a showroom at Redbrick Mill in West Yorkshire. The company said it would be exploring additional locations across the UK.

Mark Saunders, CEO of OKA, says: “As a customer-focused brand, we needed to ensure the user experience online was as streamlined as it is in-store, whilst creating efficiencies across the entire back end of the ecommerce business. We’re delighted with the early results and excited to work with the platform to build our online presence.

“The migration forms part of a wider simplification and improvement plan we’re implementing spanning ecommerce, warehousing and store operations so we’re building the right foundations for growth.”

OKA, a B Corp-certified company, works with artisans across the world to develop its furniture and accessories range, which is retailed through its website and 12 UK stores. It also offers an interior design service and a bespoke, handmade-to-order range.

In its last financial results, the business reported sales up to £55.7m.
