IKEA has opened a store in Greyhound Retail Park, Chester, marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Lord Mayor of Chester, councillor Sherin Akhta, as well as 35 staff members from the store.
IKEA Chester is the third of three new-format small stores to open this year, following the opening of IKEA Harlow in July and IKEA Norwich in August. The new retail park locations are designed to offer a simpler, faster shopping experience for customers.
Andy MacGregor, manager at IKEA Chester, says: “It’s been fantastic to open our doors and welcome the first customers into our new small store in Chester today, and we’re grateful for such a warm reception. We’re so proud to be part of the Chester community and hope everyone feels at home in our new store, whether they’re dropping in to browse, shop, plan their dream spaces, or tuck into our signature food.”
Sam Dixon, MP for Chester North and Neston, adds: "Chester is proud to be the newest home for IKEA. It is fantastic news for our city and the wider region, boosting our local economy, attracting visitors, and helping to secure Chester’s standing as a dynamic centre for retail and business.”
