Heritage Glasgow store rebrands as Sterling Home

Glasgow furniture store Forrest Furnishing has changed its name to Sterling Home, bringing with it a wide range of new brands and enhanced shopping experience for customers.

Forrest Furnishing joined Sterling Furniture Group in 2016, giving both new and existing customers access to an even wider range of furniture, homewares and decor, while retaining its brand identity. The new Sterling Home name brings the showroom in line with Sterling’s other Scottish stores, which share Forrest Furnishing’s values of high-quality products and trusted service.

Located at 1175 South Street, Glasgow, the store offers beds, dining sets, sofas, living room furniture and other homewares across 50,000 sqft of retail space.

Euan Graham, buying and marketing director and third-generation family owner at Sterling Home, says the time was right to make the switch: “Forrest Furnishing is a very well-known furniture retailer in Glasgow which has been serving Scotland for many years and helping generations of very loyal customers to choose the right pieces for their home.

“When we bought the showroom in 2016 it was important to us that it was also an independent, family-owned store which continues to be the go-to destination in Glasgow for stylish, quality furniture that will last for years. Its long history is an important part of Forrest Furnishing’s story and legacy, but now is the right time to bring the showroom in line with our other Sterling Home stores and streamline them under one modern brand. This means we can offer our customers access to more ranges, attractive price points, style, craftsmanship and an improved experience, as well as integrated online services for those who like to browse at home too.”

Sterling says it is business as usual for the team of 14 staff employed at the store.

“Shoppers will see the same familiar faces and receive the same high standard of personalised service they have always enjoyed at Forrest Furnishing,” adds Euan. “The store is ideally located for the west end of Glasgow and easily accessible via the new Renfrew Bridge over the River Clyde.”

Forrest Furnishing was founded in 1944, growing from humble beginnings as a small drapery shop in Whiteinch, Glasgow. Also founded in Scotland more than half a century ago, Sterling Home now has stores across the country, including its flagship Tillicoultry outlet alongside Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Uddingston, Dunfermline, Montrose and Elgin, as well as Glasgow.

The newly refurbished Tillicoultry store (see related) reinforces the brand’s position at the forefront of UK home retail.
