Glasswells home furnishings store has presented Gary King, manager of its Haverhill branch, with an award for 40 years of loyal service.
Gary joined the family business shortly after leaving school, working in the separate carpet shop in Queens Square, Haverhill, and was promoted to carpet department manager in 1983.
Over his career at Glasswells, Gary has managed the Saffron Walden branch, as well as the store’s largest flooring department in Bury St Edmunds from 1995-2000.
MD Paul Glasswell says: “Gary is an incredibly reliable, loyal and hardworking man. We have been very lucky to have him looking after our Haverhill branch for the past 18 years and are very proud of the good reputation that Gary and his team have gained in the town. Gary is a model employee – he overcomes challenges with very little fuss and is a credit to the company. He has dedicated his working life to Glasswells, and for that we are grateful.”
