Four bespoke sofas, made by Long Eaton-based members of the UK Centre of Quality Upholstery Manufacturers brand, have been paid for by member subscription and donated to Canaan Trust, a Christian charity based in Long Eaton that provides supported accommodation and person-centred support services to homeless women all year round.
The charity's services support a wide range of life skills, employability skills, counselling and emotional intelligence.
Kevin Curtis, project manager at Canaan Trust, says: “The kindness and generosity of the members of the UK Centre of Quality Upholstery Manufacturers brand will have a huge impact on the lives of so many vulnerable homeless women, both now and for years to come.
"It is an amazing act of corporate social responsibility, reaching out to those from the local community who have nothing and whose lives have been impacted and devastated by homelessness, helping the trust to make and provide a comfortable home for them in Aspire House so that they can begin their journeys to rebuild their lives. Thank you for caring!”
The Long Eaton Chamber of Trade, supported by Erewash Borough Council, manages the brand, and is proud to be associated with the trust’s women’s project, which is helping to protect and help those in need from across the community.
