David Woodward to abseil for industry charity

On Wednesday 9th July at 11am, past master of The Furniture Makers' Company, David Woodward, will abseil 289ft (88m) down the Lloyd’s of London building.

"It’s a huge personal challenge, but an incredible opportunity to raise money for three amazing charities close to my heart," says David, who is aiming to raise £5000 for The Furniture Makers' Company, The Upholders (a historic livery charity preserving upholstery craftsmanship and heritage skills), and Fine Cell Work (which aims to empower prisoners through needlework, fostering rehabilitation and hope) – split 40/40/20 between the charities.

"Every pound donated will make a real difference – whether it’s helping craftspeople in crisis, preserving traditional skills, or giving prisoners a brighter future," says David.

"Abseiling down Lloyd’s is way outside my comfort zone, but knowing I’m doing it for such worthy causes makes it all worthwhile. Together, we can make a real impact – let’s smash this £5000 target!
