Bensons for Beds has been certified by Great Place To Work for a second year in a row. The retailer says the award is based entirely on what current employees say about their experience working at Bensons for Beds – this year, 69% of employees said it was a great place to work, maintaining momentum from its first year of certification.
Great Place To Work is a global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and the leadership behaviours proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation.
"Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience," says Sarah Lewis-Kulin, VP of global recognition at Great Place To Work. She emphasises that certification is the sole official recognition earned by the real-time feedback of employees regarding their company culture.
“By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that Bensons for Beds stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees."
Carrie Westwell, chief people and culture officer at Bensons for Beds, adds: “We’re incredibly proud to have been recognised as a Great Place to Work for the second year running. That recognition reflects the people and culture at the heart of Bensons.
“Our colleagues make the difference for customers every day, helping them find the right sleep solutions and supporting our ambition to become a sleep wellness specialist. Thank you to everyone across Bensons who contributes to that experience, and to our leaders for the role they play in supporting their teams. We’ll keep listening, learning and improving together. This recognition is a great achievement for our people and a strong foundation for Bensons’ next chapter.”
The business says it is focused on developing store staff through learning and development, alongside strengthening culture, engagement and recruitment. Earlier this year, Bensons for Beds introduced WorkJam as its frontline platform bringing direct recognition, communication and an internal social channel ('napchat' into the hands of its staff. The business has also invested in learning and development through its Sleep Masters programme.
According to Great Place To Work research, jobseekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a certified 'great' workplace. Additionally, employees at certified workplaces are 93% more likely to look forward to coming to work, and are twice as likely to be paid fairly, earn a fair share of the company’s profits and have a fair chance at promotion.
