Jersey sponsorship gets cycle fundraiser moving

Nine furnishing industry colleagues who are cycling 300 miles to raise £50,000 for industry charity The Furniture Makers’ Company are a step closer to their goal, thanks to several corporate sponsors.

The St Albans to Morecambe Bike Ride, which is being organised by Tony Attard OBE DL, master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, is taking place from 12-16th September. The team will be cycling an average of 60 miles a day to complete the challenge, and are hoping industry will support their efforts by donating through their JustGiving page

The money raised from the challenge will support the charity’s education programme - which nurtures young people looking to build a career in the sector - and its provision of occupational welfare to people working in the industry.

With just over a month to go until the event, over £13,000 of the target has already been raised from sponsorship of the official team jersey. The Furniture Makers’ Company would like to thank the sponsors of the team jersey – Biesse UK, Blum UK, Bulgaro Interiors, Burbidge Kitchens, the British Contract Furnishing Association, the British Furniture Manufacturers Association, Celtheath, Furniture Village, Gresham Office Furniture, KI, the National Bed Federation, Ocee Design, Panaz, Sanderson Design Group, SATRA and Shackletons Group.

Tony says: “Our fundraising efforts have got off to a fantastic start thanks to the generosity of so many companies, but we’ve still got a way to go to reach our goal of £50,000. Donations of any size will be very welcome as we prepare for a fun but gruelling challenge in aid of our industry charity.”
