Ecommerce leader appoints new head of Europe

Dr Jens Uwe Intat has been appointed as Wayfair's head of Europe.

Jens Uwe joins with a 30-year track record of scaling leading ecommerce businesses, including Amazon Germany and Electronic Arts. He replaces Martin Reiter following his planned departure, and will work across Wayfair’s commercial organisation to help grow the European business, which currently boasts a $1.5b net revenue run rate.

Prior to joining Wayfair, Jens Uwe spent five years as an executive leader for Amazon Germany, overseeing major divisions including Consumer Electronics, PC, Office, Kitchen, Home Living, Lawn and Garden, and Home Improvement. Before that, he led the international arm of Electronic Arts Inc, a global leader in digital interactive entertainment, where he was responsible for publishing and go-to-market strategy, including supply chain operations.

Jens Uwe will be based at Wayfair’s European headquarters in Berlin. He holds a PHD in Corporate Strategy from the University of St Gallen in Switzerland, and a Diploma in Economics and Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany.
