Sampling solutions specialist joins trade association

Pike Textiles has joined professional body the British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM).

With 130 years’ experience in the pattern book industry, Pike Textiles has established itself as a leading UK sampling solutions specialist. With a legacy in using traditional processes, the BFM membership supports Pike’s plans to build a strong future by investing in its people and processes.

CEO Andrew Pike says: “We are passionate about what we do and our British heritage. BFM flies the flag for British manufacturers, and so we are pleased to be a part of a group of likeminded businesses, all championing high-quality products.

“Joining BFM opens up a vast community of businesses which we are keen to engage with. We are delighted to become a member of the BFM to help us gain the latest insights into the industry and understand its challenges better. As members, we will benefit from, and contribute to, the strength of the association, and look forward to being part of an organisation which has supported members of the furniture manufacturing industry for 74 years.”

BFM MD Nick Garratt adds: “We are delighted to welcome Pike Textiles as a member of BFM. With over a century of supporting the UK soft furnishing and upholstered furniture retailers and manufacturers, and a recognised and respected name within the industry, the company will be an important voice within our group. We look forward to working ever more closely together in the coming months.”

The BFM membership supports Pike Textiles' vision for growth, and comes at a time in which investment is being made in all areas of the business. Andrew explains: “There are many benefits in joining the BFM to help us grow the company. One area which we have recently been investing in is training, an area BFM are keen to support.

“Six members of our leadership and management team have recently undergone a two-day Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course. As a business, we are passionate about ensuring the mental good health of all of our employees. It is equally as important to us as ensuring their physical good health. We see it as our corporate and moral responsibility, not just because of these uncertain ‘Covid times’ but also because as a business we are growing, changing, investing and adapting to new working ways and new industry requirements, and we appreciate that change is not always easy.

“As part of our ongoing training strategy and investment in our workforce we will continue to upskill more staff members each year in MHFA and provide a support structure that will keep our team happy and healthy.”

Pike Textiles is also in the process of expanding its infrastructure and enhancing production and warehouse processes to better serve its clients.
