The British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) has appointed an events and administration specialist to support its growing calendar of activities across the sector.
Niki Rodhouse has joined the association with a remit to look after event organisation, starting with a particular focus on BFM Fabric Show London. She will be working closely with Mary Merrills, who oversees the marketing of BFM London Fabric Show, which returns to the West Stand of Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge, Fulham on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th February.
Niki will also support the BFM with new member applications and paperwork for membership renewals, and deliver improvements to the efficiency of the association’s administration.
Niki says: “The appeal of working with BFM is to support the highly knowledgeable team and increase my knowledge of the industry. It is a really exciting sector and I'm keen to get involved and grow the offerings and support of BFM to its members.”
Nick Garratt, the BFM's MD, adds: “Niki joins at an exciting time for the association. BFM is the voice of our industry, providing effective representation and a range of appropriate services that embrace the needs and add value for our members. Within this framework we are moving forward with a bold new strategy to make BFM more relevant than ever to members.
“Part of that approach will include enhancing and extending the annual events schedule. This process has started with the 2020 BFM Fabric Show London, which has had a change of name from The London Fabric Show. This is to ally the show more closely with BFM and to enable the event to expand, with the potential for more fabric shows elsewhere in the UK.
“We are also planning a variety of other events and initiatives, coupled with the existing strong membership benefits, to move BFM forward. This includes a new website, PR activity and activities to encourage new recruits to the sector. As an association, we are stronger together and we hope as many members as possible will take advantage of, and support, the new initiatives joining the successful, established core of BFM’s service.”
