Bensons and Harveys celebrate ongoing charity donation

Gathered via ongoing campaigns, Harveys and Bensons for Beds have raised a total of £8.7m for the British Heart Foundation.

Having first started working with the charity six years ago, both Harveys and Bensons for Beds offer a free service to customers which allows them to donate unwanted reusable furniture to the charity when they purchase new products. From sofas and chairs to bed frames and mattresses, all donated items are sold in British Heart Foundation stores to help fund research to find better ways to prevent, diagnose, treat and cure heart and circulatory diseases.

Helen Nunn, head of marketing for Harveys and Bensons, says: “Working with the British Heart Foundation over the past six years has been an extremely rewarding process and we’re delighted to have raised such a huge amount of money for them. It’s great to be able to offer an efficident recycling service to our customers, who rest easy knowing that their old furniture has gone to a really worthy cause.”

Karen O’Donoghue, head of retail partnerships from the British Heart Foundation, adds: “Our continued partnership with Harveys and Bensons for Beds has been vital in helping us raise money to fund essential research. The partnership has also provided our stores with much-needed furniture stock – especially bedroom furniture, which we find is not donated as much as other furniture types."
