Celebrity confirms Cintique manufacturing move

Celebrity Motion Furniture has confirmed that the manufacture of the Cintique brand will be transferred to its own site in Huthwaite from 16th August.

Wayne Hollis, MD for both Cintique and Celebrity, comments: “We’re keen to keep the Cintique branding and develop the range so Cintique has its own identity.

"Both the Cintique and Celebrity teams are excited about revitalising the Cintique offering, and I’d like to emphasise that there are no plans to merge the two brands. Cintique will also benefit from the investments that it has already made in computerised cutting machinery at Celebrity, and the expansion of the development team”.

Celebrity is aiming to make the transfer as smooth as possible, and Wayne has pointed out that the process is fairly straightforward, as both companies belong to the JDP Group so already share the same IT support and order systems.

There will be a few staff changes due to the restructure, but these will be "kept to a minimum".

Celebrity states that its factory is sufficiently equipped to accommodate the new production processes, and further components will be transferred to the Huthwaite factory over the next few weeks to avoid any delay in the manufacturing of customer orders.

Cintique and Celebrity will be at the upcoming Long Point and Autumn Furniture Show, and both teams are eager to start work on the new ranges ready for launch at the 2019 January Furniture Show.
