Footfall and sales growth at Mailbox, Birmingham

Premier Birmingham lifestyle and shopping destination, the Mailbox, has announced significant growth in footfall and sales following a raft of new openings.

Sales for the last six months of 2017 were up a total of +15% YoY. With the new 20,000 sqft home furnishings offer opening last October, the Mailbox is now 95% let, while footfall on Level 1 has increased by +59% during retail hours.

Footfall across the centre for the six months to December 2017 was up by +11% compared to a decline in retail footfall nationally, and is now approaching 6 million visits per year.

Meanwhile, Harvey Nichols has seen double-digit sales growth at the Mailbox YoY for 2017, and British bicycle manufacturer Ribble has seen trade exceed expectations in its first year.

The remainder of this year will see a number of new openings, including leading UK bespoke kitchen designer, Harvey Jones.
