New collaboration for TCS

This month sees a new collaboration within the UK fabric sofa market.

County Durham-based fabric sofa manufacturer Sofa So Good has aligned with one of the UK’s leading furniture wholesalers, TCS.

SSG will be solely committed to independent retailers in UK and Ireland. With its company factory based in County Durham, all sofas from the company are UK manufactured, retaining the skills and professionalism of the current Sofa So Good team of staff.

This new venture brings together the already established Sofa So Good and their team with the MD of TCS, Thomas Small, to form the newly created SSG.

SSG will be built on the strengths of the management team, including Gerald Cutherbertson, Scott Latta and Thomas Small.

Gerald Cutherbertson brings his 30 years of design and development experience and business experience from running Sofa So Good from 2009. Gerard has a proven track record within the furniture sector working with clients such as Argos, GUS and Littlewoods. His new role within SSG will be lead designer/director and one of the two main shareholders.

Gerard and the team are joined by new operations director, Scott Latta. Scott has been in the upholstery business for the past 20 years from manufacturing through to pattern designer and gaining business management qualifications. Scott brings with him a wealth of experience working with large multiples such as Argos, GUS and Tesco, to name but a few.

Completing the team is Thomas Small, MD of TCS. Thomas will be integrating the manufacturing side of SSG with his existing team of logistical experts, warehousing and distribution assets.

Together SSG will provide independent retailers with a large stock availability of the entire fabric sofa collection on a 7-14 day delivery schedule.

To compliment the range, optional extras such as modular corner groups, sofa bed integration and footstools choices add flexibility to further enhance retailers offerings to their customers.
