Gainsborough MD to step down

After 30 years at the helm of the Airsprung Group's Gainsborough, MD  Jerry Yates has decided to retire and will formally be leaving the business around the middle of next year.

Jerry worked for a legal firm in London before following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather at the Airsprung Group.

Until his departure, Jerry will remain with Gainsborough managing a number of key accounts and working on further opportunities where his long-standing experience will be particularly valuable.

"Jerry’s retirement from the MD’s role will be a great loss not only to Gainsborough but also to the wider Airsprung Group where he has brought huge industry and personal experience to its running," comments group CEO Tony Lisanti.

"Conversely, I am pleased to announce that the new MD of Gainsborough will be Nick Gigg, currently sales and marketing director at Swanglen Furnishings in Bristol.

"Nick has been with the Airsprung Group since 2005 and in that time has worked in several of the businesses. Most recently he has been at the forefront of relaunching Swanglen Furnishings as a leading supplier of headboards and associated furniture in the UK. The company is now undoubtedly a leading business in its sector. Nick assumed his new role with Gainsborough on the 3rd October and he and Jerry will work together to facilitate a seamless handover."
