Last week witnessed the launch of the John Lewis Christmas advert which brought to life The Man on The Moon. It appeared in John Lewis branches, online and on its customers' television screens as well as trending on social media.
Sales across the division were down by 0.4%, with sales growth from johnlewis.com of 8.5% as customers watched the Christmas advert and shopped the new seasonal assortments.
Home sales were down -1.0% with Textiles and Carpet sales performing behind last year. As nights draw in, Lighting sales momentum continued, seeing the biggest week of the half.
With the Man on The Moon Christmas advert successfully launched, branches fully decorated and stocked up with Christmas gifting and its best products ready to sell, John Lewis is well set to build momentum in the weeks ahead.
