Sofa.com, a leading omnichannel furniture retailer, has today opened a new showroom in central Bath, England.
The 3,500 sq ft showroom is the second in the UK for sofa.com, and the first outside London. As with the London showroom, the Bath location at The Corridor, is off-pitch, but central, and will display the majority of the sofa.com range, managed by a dedicated sales team.
The showroom will follow the same innovative format as sofa.com’s original destination location in Chelsea, London. Customers will be able to enjoy all of sofa.com’s relaxing and fun in-store services, including complimentary coffee, beer, Prosecco, and a kids' corner, as well as ongoing collaborative events and workshops.
The expansion is part of the company’s strategy to grow its omnichannel offering through selected showroom openings. The new showroom in Bath is ideally located to provide easy access for customers living in the West Country and surrounding counties – traditionally a stronghold for the company.
Commenting on the new Bath store and the company’s strategy, Gareth Williams, CEO, says: “We’re very happy that Bath is the location for our first showroom outside London. The city is a popular shopping destination throughout the South West, where many of our existing and prospective customers are based – people who want great products, at good prices, delivered to their homes without any hassle. The new showroom is an exciting step in our omnichannel growth strategy, and we look forward to announcing additional, selective store openings as we respond to customer demand.”
In October of this year sofa.com announced the appointment of Linda Ormrod to the new role of Director of Retail Operations, UK and Europe. The management role reports directly into CEO Gareth Williams, and will help support sofa.com’s expansion in the UK and Netherlands. Linda’s role in the preparation and launch of the Bath showroom has been significant and will continue following the opening.
