Precious Wood enjoys successful Chinese open week

Solid oak furniture manufacturer Precious Wood reports that it was "delighted" with the success of its first open week, in which established UK retailers took a detour from Shangai's Furniture China to visit its Chinese factory showrooms.

Both existing and potential clients of Precious Wood were invited to inspect not only the new factory showrooms housed within the administration buildings next to its company-owned factory, but also the production lines and quality control systems.

Clients were also invited to tour Precious Wood's new purpose-built additional central warehouse, which houses some 350 containers' worth of stock at any one time, covering an impressive 14 ranges of furniture. According to the company, it helps ensure that retailers receive good service, as well as quality and price, combined with deliveries direct from Dalian, China in as little as six weeks.

Chris Fang, MD of Precious Wood, says: "It was an exceptional week and a delight to see so many customers both old and new in such a short period of time, and it was a pleasure to show our UK customers how we perfect our furniture to ensure they only receive quality product of the highest order, backed with fine service and exclusivity of product. I pride my company on delivering quality of the highest order as well as a top service, and it was thoroughly enjoyable showing customers first-hand how and what we can provide their business."

During the open week, Precious Wood launched three new collections – Vienna, Burwood and Willow. These ranges, which are supplied on an exclusive basis, were all deemed "a success".

Stephen Day of Precious Wood says of the new collections: "In times where retailers need exclusivity in today's 'go-compare' society, as well as product direct from source ensuring a mix of quality, price and service, it was great to see each new collection hit a note for retailers understanding that exclusivity sells and brings retail advantage too.

"Whilst customers decided between Burwood and Vienna collections, each and every customer all week – covering a full seven days of customer visits – committed fully to our new Willow collection. Personally I haven't seen such a response to one collection in many years as to the reaction to the Willow last week, which was very pleasing after several months of product development."

Precious Wood looks forward to seeing retailers at both the forthcoming Minerva buying group event and the Second Branded Furniture Show (1st-2nd October).
