Arlo & Jacob will open a new showroom in Chiswick, West London this September, marking the brand’s 14th location and the eighth store in just two years.
Acquired five years ago by husband-and-wife team Mark and Julie Smith, Arlo & Jacob has grown steadily by building on long-standing industry relationships and the expertise of a skilled manufacturing team – some of whom have worked with the founders for over 25 years. This includes the group’s CEO, Lisa Broad, who has worked alongside the owners since day one.
“We built the brand gradually with a team that truly believed in it,” says Mark Smith. “Everyone just mucks in – and that’s been our biggest strength.”
The business owns its entire UK manufacturing process, from its woodmill (crafting lifetime-guaranteed sofa frames) to its interiors factory (producing feather and fibre seat fillings) and finished goods facility (handmaking made-to-order and bespoke upholstery).
“Owning our manufacturing means we control quality from start to finish,” adds Mark. “It lets us innovate quickly, support British jobs, and deliver exactly what customers want.”
Julie Smith continues: “Our slow, considered showrooms are designed with complete attention to harmony. Every roomset tells a story, and every material is placed with intention. That’s what people feel when they walk in.”
The Chiswick store will showcase Arlo’s full sofa and armchair collection, with new product categories planned for later this year to extend the brand’s offering into more rooms of the home.
