VIFA duo affirm Vietnam's global appeal

The third Vietnam ASEAN International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair – VIFA ASEAN – which took place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City from 26- 29thAugust, featured 230 exhibitors, including 138 Vietnamese businesses and 92 international companies, further cementing Vietnam's role in the global furniture supply chain …

Vietnam's furniture industry has achieved remarkable growth in recent years, driven by a strong export performance and its competitive advantages in manufacturing.

This summer’s VIFA ASEAN event showcased suppliers from Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, the US, China, India, Italy, Taiwan and Hong Kong, sharing the latest in furniture products and services – 62% furniture, 14% furnishings, 14% handicrafts, and 20% furniture materials, machinery, wood and supporting services – with a reported 8,926 visitors over four days.

Of these, 2,037 were international visitors, from 67 countries and territories – primarily from China, the US, India, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Canada and the UK

The proportion of international buyers was noteworthy, states event organiser Lien Minh, with 76% from Asia, 12% from the Americas, 7% from Europe, 3% from Oceania and 2% from Africa. Three-fifths (60%) were returning visitors, with 68% expressing a demand for business matching.

Opening the autumn’s Asian furniture fair circuit, which includes the likes of Kofurn (South Korea), MFFM (Malaysia), CIFF Shanghai and WMF, Furniture China and Maison Shanghai (China) and IFFINA (Indonesia), VIFA ASEAN 2025 attracted thousands of international buyers seeking furniture and home decor suppliers.

The event offered a range of programmes to support global buyers’ travel and accommodation needs, such as airport support, free shuttle buses, exclusive deals from official hotels, and complimentary hotel stay for VIP buyers, alongside factory tours, business-matching and seminars.

“VIFA ASEAN 2025 was more than just a trade event,” says Lien Minh, “it was a crucial export-import bridge for the global furniture community to meet and connect with the Vietnamese market. The success of VIFA ASEAN 2025 affirmed the growing position of Vietnam's furniture industry and positively contributed to the development of the South East Asian furniture sector.”

Looking ahead to VIFA EXPO 2026

From 8-11th March 2026, Ho Chi Minh City will again become a focal point of Vietnam's furniture industry, as the 17th Vietnam International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair (VIFA EXPO) takes place across SKY EXPO Vietnam Center and WTC EXPO International Exhibition Center (a shuttle bus journey of around 1.5 hours apart), bringing together more than 2,800 booths across some 51,000m2 and featuring in excess of 650 businesses from Vietnam and further afield.

There will be complete support programme for global buyers, from airport support and exclusive hotel deals (-30-50% off), to complimentary hotel stays for VIP buyers.

VIFA EXPO 2026 will be part of the March 2026 Asian show circuit, which includes IFEX (Indonesia), MIFF and EFE (Malaysia), PIFS (Philippines), and 3F and CIFF (China).

Building on the success of this year’s VIFA EXPO, which featured over 650 exhibitors and reportedly attracted more than 20,000 visitors (including more than 7,500 international buyers from 83 countries), Vietnam's leading role in furniture manufacturing and export is set to be further affirmed, says Lien Minh: “This strong appeal highlights VIFA EXPO's ability to effectively connect the Vietnamese furniture market with the global arena, fostering sustainable business relationships and creating new directions for the industry's development.

“VIFA EXPO 2026 offers an ideal platform for businesses to leverage Vietnam's advantages as a rapidly growing furniture manufacturing hub. The fair is an effective bridge that helps businesses expand their market and strengthen their brand on the international stage. It is also a direct gateway to access the fast-growing domestic market and attract interest from numerous global importers. Therefore, VIFA EXPO is a must-attend event for anyone in the industry.

“Let's welcome a new era for the development of Vietnam's furniture, home decor, wood, and handicraft industries, with VIFA EXPO!”
