Silentnight champions British retail at Manchester event

Silentnight delivered a statement of support to the furniture industry at its inaugural Sleep Great, Britain event in the centre of Manchester earlier this month, showcasing its latest investment plans in brand, product and retail partnerships.

Hosted within Manchester’s National Football Museum, the event majored on the importance of ‘Winning Together’, bringing together retailers and hospitality partners from across the UK to unveil Silentnight’s latest product ranges, insights and marketing investments, all designed to drive in-store growth and hospitality guest satisfaction.

Keynote speeches from Tracey Bamber, Silentnight’s chief executive, alongside Ian Lambert, the business’ CMO, outlined the company’s research findings and investments in supporting retailers across Britain.

The business’ research shows that over 60% of consumers now rank mental health and sleep as their top health priority, with mattress replacement cycles continuing to shorten.

Tracey also outlined how Silentnight’s strong brand equity is delivering commercial value for retailers, and leading competing brands in consumer trust scores.

The event was also used to showcase how brand trust and familiarity have become key conversion drivers. Retailers working with Silentnight benefit from deep investment in tools to boost in-store sales which includes dedicated PoS displays, visual merchandising and tailored marketing materials.

Ian Lambert, who organised the event, says: “We’re seeing more and more people start to realise the importance of sleep for their overall health and wellbeing and this shift presents a huge opportunity for retail. ‘Sleep Great, Britain’ was our way of saying – we’re in this together. We’re investing in the tools, products and campaigns that will drive footfall, increase confidence and grow sales for our partners.”

The event also marked the launch of two new mattress collections – UltraGel and Memory Cool - designed to deliver with market-leading technology to enhance comfort and tailored support.

The UltraGel collection features a gel-infused comfort layer that offers advanced pressure relief and ease of movement. The range also comprises two cool-to-touch mattresses, designed to provide an instant cooling effect to the skin. The Memory Cool range, meanwhile, builds on Silentnight’s trusted memory foam platform with an upgraded comfort layer infused with graphite, a naturally conductive mineral that helps draw heat away from the body to deliver a +15% cooler sleep surface compared to standard memory foam.
