The Midlands Region of The Furniture Makers’ Company gathered for its second networking mixer last month, bringing together professionals from across the local furniture and design industries for an evening of ten-pin bowling and community building.
The event, held on 30th October, saw 36 attendees take to the lanes for two games of ten-pin bowling at Tenpin Lenton Lane, Nottingham.
Representatives joined from DPG Foam Convertors, One Call Furniture, George Stewart Design, Webs Training, Artistic & Iain James Furniture, The Long Eaton Guild, Design Conformity, and Elite Spray Tech. Together, they filled nearly a third of the bowling alley.
Competition was close, but a few stand-out bowlers took home the honours: Highest Male Score, Russell (George Stewart Design) – 139.5; Highest Female Score, Michelle (George Stewart Design) – 109; Lowest Male Score, Barry (George Stewart Design) – 44; and Lowest Female Score, Sarah (DPG Foam Convertors) – 46.
In addition to the friendly competition, the evening also raised funds for the Furniture Makers’ charity.
Gina Thomson, chairman of the Midlands Region Committee, says: “It was fantastic to see so many familiar and new faces coming together for a relaxed evening of networking and laughter. Events like these really help strengthen our Midlands community.”
