The Irish Furniture & Homewares Show (IFHS), which took place in late August, once again proved why it is regarded as Ireland’s leading trade event for the furniture and homewares sector …
Hosted at the National Indoor Arena in Dublin, the show brought together industry leaders, international brands, retailers and buyers for three days of product launches, networking and celebration.
“This year’s edition did more than showcase the best in design and craftsmanship,” says show ‘s titular organiser. “It reinforced the IFHS as a vital hub for growth, innovation and collaboration in an ever-evolving industry.”
Exhibitors presented thousands of new products across furniture, homewares, textiles and interiors, while buyers from Ireland, the UK and Europe were “out in force”, ready to place orders, discover new collections, and build new partnerships.
“The atmosphere was unmistakably optimistic, with a strong sense of momentum carrying through the aisles – evidence of a sector brimming with energy and ideas,” says IFHS.
A platform for growth and connection
Over the past decade, the IFHS has gone from strength to strength, evolving into an international showcase that reflects the changing face of the furniture and homewares market – and this year’s show captured that evolution perfectly, with exhibitors highlighting new approaches to sustainable manufacturing, fresh design trends, and a renewed focus on customer experience.
“The show continues to serve as one of the most efficient routes for buyers to connect with suppliers,” says IFHS. “With visitors arriving ready to make purchasing decisions, exhibitors benefit from high-quality engagement and strong commercial outcomes. At its core, the event is about more than just presenting collections – it is about cultivating relationships that support the future of the Irish furniture sector.”
This year also saw a particularly strong international presence, the organiser reports. Brands from across Europe and beyond joined leading Irish suppliers, demonstrating the global outlook of the event while keeping Irish craftsmanship at its heart. “That balance between local expertise and international innovation is what continues to make the IFHS unique,” adds IFHS.
Spotlight on excellence
A true highlight of the 2025 show was the Irish Furniture & Homewares Awards, held on the first evening and hosted by broadcaster Ruth Scott. Judged by architect and lecturer Amanda Bone, the awards honoured the products, people and companies driving the sector forward.
The awards have become a centrepiece of the show, and this year saw a record number of entries across all categories. From sustainability to design and customer service, the shortlist was a testament to the talent and creativity that define the industry, says IFHS.
The results were: Best Global Product – Global Home Ireland was highly commended, and Cófra the winner; Best Sustainability Initiative – Highgrove Beds was highly commended, and Hermann Biederlack & Co the winner; Best European Product – Mini Divani was highly commended, and Glamour Sofa the winner; Best Display & Exhibition Stand – the runner-up was Transformer Tables, and the winner Faith and Ethan; Best Supplier – Faith and Ethan; and Best Sales Representative – Andrew Heasley, Image Furnishings.
The awards ceremony also included a tribute to companies that have consistently supported the show for over a decade. Among those recognised were Keen Classic, Mini Divani, World Furniture, MPD Furniture, Global Home, and Tyrone Quality Framing –businesses whose loyalty and commitment have played a key role in shaping the IFHS’ success.
“The 2025 entries showcased remarkable creativity and innovation, underscoring the strength and ambition within the sector,” says the show organiser. “Award winners stood out for their achievements in individual categories while also representing a broader commitment to raising standards across the industry.”
Sustainability and innovation at the forefront
“If one theme defined IFHS 2025, it was sustainability,” IFHS continues. “From innovative use of recycled materials to eco-friendly packaging and energy-conscious production, exhibitors demonstrated a shared commitment to reducing environmental impact while maintaining quality and style.
“The Best Sustainability Initiative category in the awards reflected this shift, with Hermann Biederlack & Co taking top honours for their outstanding efforts. The judges commended their holistic approach to sustainability, noting how it aligned with broader industry goals of responsible manufacturing.
“Innovation was another clear trend. From cutting-edge sofa designs to multifunctional tables and smart textiles, exhibitors proved that creativity and practicality go hand in hand. For buyers, this meant discovering products that not only look beautiful in homes and showrooms but also meet the modern consumer’s demand for functionality and value.”
A word of thanks
“The success of IFHS 2025 would not have been possible without the extraordinary effort of the exhibitors who brought their collections to Dublin, and the buyers and visitors who filled the halls with energy and purpose,” states the organiser. “We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who contributed to making this year’s show such a triumph.
“To our exhibitors – thank you for your creativity, your investment, and your commitment to showcasing the best of the industry. To our attendees – thank you for your engagement, your enthusiasm, and your continued belief in the importance of supporting the Irish furniture and homewares sector.
“Events like IFHS thrive on the strength of community, and this year’s show was a powerful reminder of how collaboration drives success.”
Looking ahead – IFHS 2026
“While we celebrate the achievements of 2025, our eyes are already on the future,” says IFHS. “Plans are well under way for the next edition, with IFHS 2026 confirmed for 23rd-25th August 2026 at the National Indoor Arena, Dublin. Excitement is already building, with new exhibitors eager to join and established names preparing to return, ensuring that next year promises to be even bigger and better.
“As the Irish Furniture & Homewares Show continues to grow, so too does its role as a cornerstone of the industry. By uniting suppliers, retailers, designers and innovators under one roof, the show will remain at the forefront of conversations that shape the sector’s future.
“The 2025 edition of IFHS went beyond the role of a traditional trade show, offering a platform to showcase the creativity, resilience and professionalism within the sector. With a busy exhibition floor and a well-received awards night, the event demonstrated the strength of both the products presented and the people behind them.
“As we look back on a successful 2025 and forward to the next edition in August 2026, one thing is clear – the Irish Furniture & Homewares Show is not only a platform for business, but a vital part of the story of Irish and international furniture industry.
