Autumn’s Long Point show returns from 14-16th September, inviting the furniture trade to Long Eaton for three days of new launches, award-winning design and British craftsmanship – plus a free networking reception …
Showrooms across Long Eaton and beyond will welcome retailers, interior designers and specifiers to explore new upholstery, cabinet, dining and bedroom furniture, alongside manufacturing and training solutions. In all, 30 companies will exhibit at the event, including newcomers HTL and The English Chesterfield Company.
David Gascoigne, the newly appointed chair of the Long Eaton Guild of Furniture Manufacturers, says: “Long Point is a fantastic opportunity for the trade to come to Long Eaton and see a broad mix of furniture, design and craftsmanship. We want visitors to explore the different showrooms, discover new collections and spend time with the people behind the brands.”
Upholstery will once again take centre stage, with established Long Eaton manufacturing strongly represented by established guild members Gascoigne Designs, David Gundry and Artistic Upholstery all displaying new products and fabrics.
John Sankey will unveil its latest collections alongside its Sankey Journal edit, while Tamarisk will display new upholstery shapes with co-ordinated fabrics, and Hunter Knight will offer bespoke manufacturing alongside standard pieces.
Bradbery & Cooke, Covercraft and Paulus & Brown return for their second appearances, having debuted this May. Bradbery & Cooke will show a diverse mix of established and new models, combining traditional furniture with a contemporary twist and featuring Gold Seal Octo Core seat cushions. Wallace & Howe also returns, as it continues to develop its portfolio following the acquisition of Steed Upholstery and Peter Guild.
Siren Furniture will present established models including the Draycott collection, while the award-winning Tetrad will display its Dakota and Nappa ranges. At The Helm’s display continues to combine handcrafted upholstery with cabinetry and lighting, alongside its Hydeline collection, while Violino plans to launch around 25 new groups spanning home cinema options, power headrests, storage, and high-leg designs.
Hjort Knudsen and Michael Tyler share a showroom, creating a two-brand destination in which the former will showcase its dining furniture, recliners and sofas, while Michael Tyler continues to celebrate 50 years of trading with a selection of new products.
Carlton and Vintage will reveal their new Fudge and Leather range alongside contemporary dining collections, new Vintage upholstery, dining and occasional chairs, plus a new fast-track brochure.
HTL will present its latest upholstery and leather collections, while The English Chesterfield Company will display its handcrafted, MTO British upholstery. Ashwood Designs will introduce new product and fabrics, while its sister company Buoyant Upholstery will look to build on the response to its newly launched models.
At Castlewood Business Park, Sutton-in-Ashfield (off J28 of the M1), Sofa Brands International brands G Plan and Parker Knoll, alongside guild member Duresta, will showcase their latest sofa and chair designs. G Plan promises to maintain its long-standing reputation for British design, comfort and quality, Parker Knoll continues to combine British craftsmanship with innovative comfort, and Duresta will offer visitors the opportunity to explore its luxury upholstery.
Cabinet, dining and bedroom furniture add further variety. Iain James Furniture will launch a collection featuring American walnut and dyed green veneers, while Abode will present its IL Range in a combination of solid and veneered oak with art deco-inspired detailing, alongside its Lille living and dining collections. Hartmann will showcase its oak Vala and contemporary Audra ranges, while Wiemann further broadens its award-winning contemporary bedroom offer.
Furthermore, Peter Cook will present its components and manufacturing solutions, and WEBS Training, based in Harrington Mill’s reception, will share advice on apprenticeships and industry training.
Visitors are encouraged to explore multiple locations, with several showrooms just five minutes’ walk from Harrington Mill. Visitors arriving by train can avail of the guild’s complimentary pick-up service from Long Eaton station by calling 0115 973 4481 at least one week in advance.
“Whether you are searching for timeless British craftsmanship, luxurious upholstery, contemporary collections or bespoke furniture, Long Point provides an unrivalled opportunity to meet the manufacturers themselves, explore new collections and develop lasting business relationships,” says David, who is also introducing a new networking reception, taking place at Long Eaton’s Limas Tapas (near the entrance of Leopold Street) from 5pm-7pm on Monday 14th September, welcoming all Long Point exhibitors and registered trade visitors for complimentary drinks and appetisers.
“This informal gathering has been created to provide an opportunity to meet fellow retailers, interior designers and manufacturers in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, exchange ideas, strengthen existing relationships and make new connections within our industry,” David explains.
