Koelnmesse announces launch of imm india

Koelnmesse Pvt, the Indian subsidiary of imm cologne's organiser Koelnmesse GmbH, has announced the launch of imm india, a B2B exhibition supported by several prominent Indian industry associations.

imm india will make its debut from 11-14th March 2026, at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, the India International Convention and Expo Centre. The event is poised to host major furniture, furnishing and interior associated exhibitors and attract more than 5000 buyers from India and across the globe.

"The strategic geo-clone of the globally renowned imm cologne is set to redefine the interior business landscape, serving as a vital platform for both India's burgeoning domestic market and its rapidly growing international export capabilities," states the event organiser.

"The launch comes at a pivotal time for the Indian interior sector. Propelled by increasing disposable incomes, rapid urbanisation, and a dynamic retail environment, the Indian furniture market, a significant component of the broader interior business, is experiencing substantial growth. Valued at approximately $23.8b in 2024, the Indian furniture market is projected to reach $44.2b by 2033, demonstrating a robust CAGR of 6.40% from 2025 to 2033.

"Furthermore, India's furniture and handicrafts exports are on an upward trajectory, with a notable growth of +4% in shipments between November 2023 and October 2024, targeting key markets such as the US, Europe, and the Middle East. imm india aims to accelerate this growth trajectory and firmly establish India as a global interior business sourcing hub."

imm india is set to showcase a comprehensive range of interior solutions, encompassing residential and contract furniture, commercial establishment systems, outdoor living, lighting, floor and wall coverings, textiles, decorative accessories, and specialised segments like kitchen interiors. The event will also spotlight trends in sustainable materials, integrated technology and modular designs, and a unique fusion of traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics, reflecting "the diverse and evolving demands of the global market".

Gerald Böse, president and CEO of Koelnmesse GmbH, says: "Bringing the proven concept of imm cologne to India with imm india, in collaboration with such esteemed local associations, is a natural progression and a testament to the immense potential of the Indian market. This joint effort ensures a truly representative and impactful event, facilitating significant global business connections and propelling the industry forward."

Echoing this sentiment, Milind Dixit, MD of Koelnmesse Pvt, adds: "imm india is more than an exhibition – it's a strategic response forged in partnership with the backbone of the Indian interior business industry. Exclusively supported by several important industry associations like Jodhpur Handicrafts Exporters Association and The Handicrafts Exporters Association-Moradabad, we are creating an unparalleled opportunity for Indian manufacturers to showcase their innovation and reach international buyers, while simultaneously offering global purchasers access to the vast potential of Indian craftsmanship and production.

"Our collective focus is on delivering a world-class platform that fosters strong partnerships, drives exports, and elevates India’s position on the global interior business map."

Bharat Dinesh, president of the Jodhpur Handicrafts Exporters Association, comments: "As an association deeply rooted in promoting Indian craftsmanship and exports, we are incredibly excited to co-organise imm india with Koelnmesse. This event is a monumental step for the Indian interior business, providing our members and the wider industry with an unparalleled global stage. It’s an opportunity to showcase the richness and diversity of Indian design, foster crucial international partnerships, and significantly boost our presence in the global market."

imm india promises to be "an indispensable event" for interior designers, architects, furniture retailers, wholesalers, importers, exporters, hoteliers, ecommerce platforms, and project developers seeking to connect with the best of Indian interior product manufacturers and suppliers.
