January show announces notable newcomers

The January Furniture Show 2017, taking place from 22nd-25th January at the Birmingham NEC, will see several notable additions to its exhibitor roster.

Family-owned German company, Gwinner will make its NEC debut. Gwinner, which specialises in quality dining, cabinet and wall furniture in lacquers and real wood veneers, has been manufacturing for over 80 years, with the UK becoming its most important export market.

"It is for this reason that we decided to exhibit, for the first time, at the new NEC show, which now has a much better format," says Tim Robinson, UK agent for Gwinner. "While we do exhibit at many other locations we understand that not all UK retailers are able to visit shows abroad. It is important that we get to showcase our new and innovative designs where retailers are visiting and the January Furniture Show is an obvious choice for us in 2017."

Returning after 16 years is Michael Tyler, one of Britain's leading independent manufacturers of contemporary upholstered furniture, which has been at the forefront of British upholstery design since it was founded in 1976. It is using the 2017 exhibition to add a new collection to its well-established Michael Tyler and Quadro ranges.

MD Steve Smedley comments: "The last time we exhibited at the NEC in January was 2001 but we feel the time is right for us to exhibit once again. The new January Furniture Show offers an ideal opportunity to present our new collection to a wide audience at a premier exhibition.

"Showing at trade shows is becoming increasingly important, as retailers have less time to leave their showrooms and visit individual manufacturers' showrooms."
