Jenners raises funds for local hospice

The official opening of a specialist furniture and flooring department at Jenners of Edinburgh at House of Fraser (HOF) saw employees and shoppers help raise funds for St Columba’s Hospice, based in Edinburgh, with the raffle of a 3D-cake and much more.

The sofa cake, designed and made by 3D Cakes of Edinburgh, was raffled at the new department’s launch event. The raffle and other activities raised £500 for St Columba’s Hospice, which will go directly towards this year’s Light Up A Life Appeal, which raises funds to provide extra special care and support to patients and families over the festive period.

Business development director Elaine Ray at HOF Made to Order says: “The new department makes for a new, bigger and better furniture and flooring offer for people in Edinburgh, offering more choice, knowledge and expertise. We have added new ranges, branded furniture galleries and totally re-vamped the area for a better shopping environment for our customers.

“As part of our launch we really wanted to make a contribution to the local community in Edinburgh and what better way than helping people remember a loved one this Christmas. St Columba’s Hospice does amazing work in the city and we’re pleased to have been able to raise much needed funds to help with their Light Up A Life appeal.”

The new department creates the biggest destination for branded furniture in central Edinburgh, bringing furniture brands such as La-Z-Boy, SiSi Italia, Alexander James and Parker Knoll to the city centre shopper.
