Soft furnishings manufacturer moves to new facility

Leeds-based soft furnishings and bedlinen manufacturer Riva Home has announced the development of a new 375,000 sqft head office distribution centre, following significant growth and expansion into new product categories.

The development, previously occupied and owned by AGFA graphics, is undergoing extensive refurbishment due for completion in September.

The site comprises 70,000 sqft of space for Riva Home’s head office, and over 300,000 sqft of warehousing, which will give the home interiors business the capacity to store over 20,000 pallets and dispatch in excess of 80,000 orders per day.

Riva Home is known as a specialist in the soft furnishings and bedlinen sectors, but recent growth and expansion through mainstream online retailers has led it to expand into further categories within the home interiors market.

Riva Home acquired Evans Lichfield, a soft furnishings manufacturer based in Staffordshire, in July 2020. The acquisition has given Riva Home the ability to adapt to market trends with low lead times and high quality.

Riva Home MD Justin Green says: “It’s certainly an exciting time here at Riva – the last year has brought many challenges, but even more opportunities, that the team have excelled with. The new site gives us huge room for further expansion through new product categories and retail partners, but also for further acquisitions in the near future.”

Mike Stocks, who is leading Riva Home’s acquisition strategy from Smailes Goldie’s corporate finance department, comments: “The growth that Riva Home has achieved over the last few years is very impressive, and they are now perfectly staged for further growth in the coming years.”
