January Furniture Show "reviewing plans" following Government announcement

Clarion Events, the organiser of the January Furniture Show, is reviewing its plans to stage the event in January 2021 in light of the exhibitions ban announced by the Government earlier this week.

"Following the UK Government’s announcement that plans to have the public return to conference and exhibition centres have been paused, we are awaiting clarification on Government guidance so we can plan accordingly," reads a statement published on the event's website.

"We remain hopeful we can deliver a strong and successful event for the furniture community – however, we are currently reviewing plans for January, and will be in contact with our customers and partners over the coming days as the situation becomes clearer."

The January Furniture Show is the UK's principal event for the domestic furniture trade, and one of many fixtures to be affected by the extension of restrictions intended to slow the progress of Covid-19. The Autumn Furniture Show, due to take place at Stoneleigh in October, has been cancelled, while several international events have already signalled their intention to relocate to next spring (see related).
