New experts join FIRA International

FIRA International has welcomed two new members of staff to its consultancy team.

Mark Allison has joined as the new sustainability consultant, responsible for research and development and ensuring FIRA International’s work relating to Club Green and the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP) is delivered to the highest standards. His background spans more than 30 years of promoting and directing sustainability across businesses, Government agencies, non-profit organisations, Chambers of Commerce, and the general public in terms of sustainability awareness and understanding.

Rima Lahiry has also joined the team as the new product technologist. She will be responsible for offering a range of consultancy services including chemical compliance and REACH, risk assessment and product safety, undertaking research projects on behalf of the association alongside auditing the FIRA Compliance Scheme for Fire Safety of Upholstered Furniture. She has over 12 years' experience in retail technology and quality assurance with the likes of Tesco, Disney, Crayola and Mattel, covering a wide range of consumer products from toys to cosmetics, children’s clothing to nursery products and home textiles to bathroom furniture.
