Chinese exhibitions respond to coronavirus spread

The Shenzhen International Furniture Exhibition (SIFE) 2020 has been rescheduled due to the Chinese government’s fear of escalating the spread of coronavirus.

The 35th edition of the exhibition was slated to take place from 18th-21st March, but has been pushed back to an as-yet-unspecified date (rumoured to be June).

“The decision to postpone this exhibition is due to the urgent force majeure of the epidemic situation, in order to minimise the possible health risks,” reads a statement from organiser Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association. “I hope all exhibitors can understand and support it.”

CIFF Guangzhou and 3F are yet to confirm any changes, but Furniture News urges UK buyers planning to source from China this March to keep abreast of the changing situation.
