BFM reveals optimistic manufacturer outlook

The latest figures from the British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) reveal a sense of confidence. The association's October 2019 State of Trade & Price Trends Survey shows that furnituremakers in Britain are optimistic as both new order intake and output rises.

According to the survey, business confidence stands at +22%. The figure for June was -6%.

Nick Garratt, MD of the BFM, says: “Business confidence is an important indicator and it is good to see it has increased in the last four months. Output and order intake are expected to remain at positive levels as we approach Christmas, which for many companies is a traditionally busy period.”

A full version of the report, which features a comprehensive overview of key industry statistics, is available to BFM members from the association’s website.

Nick adds: “As the voice of our industry, providing effective representation and a range of appropriate services that embrace the needs and add value, the State of Trade & Price Trends Survey is an important benefit available exclusively for our members. Items surveyed include business confidence, order intake, output and material costs to name a few.”
