Jay-Be grows UK sales for 11th year running

Bed, mattress and upholstery manufacturer Jay-Be reports that its sales have grown for the 11th year running, driven by a combination of broadening its product offer, increasing production capacity and putting a commitment to sustainability at the forefront of its product development strategy.

“It’s been a really exciting year for Jay-Be with lots of new developments, and increasing sales for the 11th year in a row is a result we’re really proud of," says MD Roger Durrans. "We’re extremely grateful to our customers who continue to support us, and for the fantastic team we have, who work extremely hard to deliver what our customers ask for.”

While export sales declined, the brand established footholds in export markets including Canada and the US, from which the company expects to see significant growth in the near future.

The business plans to continue to invest heavily in sustainability, product innovation and responsible manufacturing – lowering its carbon footprint, sourcing the latest sustainable materials and ensuring that its products are designed with recyclability in mind – and has increased investment in training and its apprenticeship scheme.

“Jay-Be has a very diverse range of manufacturing capabilities which creates a wide variety of job opportunities," comments HR manager, Leanne Scargill. "We’re extremely proud to make all our mattresses, upholstery and metal beds in the UK, and we’re committed to investing in people. There is no limit in our company as to how far a dedicated individual can go.”

The business was also awarded The Furniture Makers’ Company's Manufacturing Guild Mark this year, making it one of just 19 companies to receive the accolade.
