Devonshire appoints new MD

Andy Waddell has been appointed MD of furniture manufacturer and importer Devonshire. He replaces founder Peter Hockin, who has retired after growing the company over the last 25 years.

Andy has been with the company for 18 years, having started as a delivery driver before progressing to the position of transport manager and then factory manager, commercial director and operations director.

He will be joined by development director Nicolle Hockin, who has worked in the family business for four years, and is also studying for an MBA.

The board is further strengthened by Huw Johns, marketing director, and Mike England, finance director.

Andy says: “I have been very fortunate to have had a diverse career at Devonshire which I have greatly enjoyed. I very much look forward to taking the business to the next level and maximising on all the opportunities that we have as a leading UK furniture manufacturer.”

Devonshire employs around 100 staff from its site in North Devon, which comprises a 240,000 sqft factory and 27,000 sqft showroom.
