Textile show puts sleep to the fore

The upcoming Heimtextil exhibition, taking place in Frankfurt from 8-11th January, will focus on the importance of restful sleep for the first time through various special features and exhibits.

International sleep experts will discuss the current state of research in sleep medicine as part of the new Sleep! The Future Forum. Across four themed areas (Science & Digital, Sports, Hotels and Sustainability), the experts will provide information on their latest findings and provide an outlook on the future of sleep, making the foyer of hall 11.0 a meeting point for members of the bed industry.

New products in the Sleep segment will be combined on a separate hall level (11.0) for the first time. Under the title Smart Bedding, 134 exhibitors will present their latest sleeping systems, mattresses and bedding, including includes functional materials as well as innovative technology solutions for a better night’s sleep.

Nick Littlehales, sleep coach of top athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lewis Hamilton, will take to the forum to talk about how even the sleep of top sporting superstars can be further improved. Elisabeth Brandau, German mountain bike champion, agrees. "Stress is a permanent condition for many people today," she says. "A high-performance day begins with a restful night." Elisabeth will explain how a good night’s sleep affects the performance of athletes – and how everyone can benefit from this knowledge.
