Ex-Multiyork staff boost Plumbs' cover capacity

Plumbs, a specialist in made-to-measure furniture covers, reupholstery and curtains, is opening of a new sewing unit within the Keystone Enterprise Factory, Thetford.

The factory will initially employ six staff, who formerly worked for furnituremaker Multiyork, which recently ceased trading.

Plumbs aims to build on its reputation as a leading UK covermaker to provide a simple solution for owners of Multiyork suites wishing to replace their covers.

Rob Page, Plumbs' manufacturing director, says: “We very much welcome these key workers from Multiyork who will work alongside our existing teams and share their invaluable knowledge – I am sure the new employees will be a great asset to Plumbs and add to our existing skillset and help expand our loose cover options.”

MD Sarah Page adds: “The Plumbs family are delighted to be investing in a new unit and believe the experience and expertise of the new staff will contribute to the continuing growth of the business.”

Plumbs employs more than 300 people across four sites. The new factory is within a building owned by the Keystone Development Trust , a not-for-profit enterprise that delivers support to communities within its area through a diverse range of projects, funded by the income it generates as well as funding from public bodies and other grantmaking organisations.
