Hayden Davies installed as industry charity master

The Furniture Makers’ Company has installed Hayden Davies as its 57th Master, succeeding Dr Tony Smart MBE.

The annual installation ceremony took place on 14th May at St Mary-le-Bow Church in the City of London, followed by a celebratory dinner at Mansion House, the official residence of the lord mayor of London.

Around 200 members and guests were in attendance at the installation dinner and were joined by city dignitaries including the lord mayor and lady mayoress of London, Charles and Samantha Bowman, alderman and Sheriff Tim Hailes JP and sheriff Neil Redcliffe.

Hayden Davies says: “I would like to thank everyone who attended my installation ceremony and helped make it a very memorable occasion. This year my focus will be membership and belonging - not just encouraging more members to join our ranks but making sure as many people as possible from across the industry engage in our activities.”

The evening also included an award ceremony for the Christopher Claxton Stevens Prize (presented to Rupert Senior for his Logmore Table) and a Lifetime Achievement Award (awarded posthumously to Mark Wilkinson OBE OLM and presented to Cynthia Wilkinson).

The Christopher Claxton Stevens Prize was presented to Rupert Senior for the Logmore Table.
