Oak Furniture Solutions in administration

Contemporary Oak Furniture, the company trading under the name Oak Furniture Solutions, has gone into administration.

With the assistance of the directors, administrator Kirks attempted to sell the business as a going concern, but was unsuccessful.

While operations had been reduced drastically, following an announcement on 22nd January 2018, the company has ceased to trade and 35 members of staff have been made redundant – the remaining 10 will continue to assist the administrator in the short term.

The company will not be making any further deliveries, so any customers with outstanding orders will need to seek reimbursement by alternative means. Customers who purchased items worth £100 or more, and who paid by Visa or Mastercard credit card, should contact their credit card company to seek a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Those who paid by Visa or Mastercard debit cards, or by Visa, Mastercard or Amex credit cards for goods which cost £100 or less may be able to use the Chargeback system to reclaim payment. This must be done within 120 days of realising there is a problem (not from the date of transaction).

Customers who paid by any other means should send their details to the administrator at [email protected]. Kirks states that there is no guarantee that payment will be refunded, but if there are funds available for distribution to unsecured creditors, customers may receive a partial refund in due course.
