JDP to discontinue Wade Upholstery's independent business

JDP Furniture Group plans to discontinue the supply of its Wade Upholstery brand to the independent retail sector, citing declining sales "for a number of years despite several attempts to reinvigorate the brand". According to the group, the trading during the financial year ended September 2017 proved particularly difficult in the sector.

The proposed changes could affect up to 32 employees of the Wade Upholstery division. Consultation with these employees has started, and will continue until at least 30th November.

JDP Furniture Group says that all existing customer orders will continue to be fulfilled, and all supplier obligations will continue to be met. The rest of the group is unaffected by this proposal.
