Bedmaker continues support for local cyclist Amy Gornall

Barnoldswick-based bedmaker Silentnight has announced its continued support for local cyclist Amy Gornall.

Silentnight began sponsoring the young cyclist in 2016, and will continue to sponsor the athlete as she goes into her summer season later this month.

Speaking about the sponsorship and the season ahead, Amy Gornall says: “The support I’ve had from Silentnight over the past year has been hugely appreciated and I’m delighted that they are continuing the sponsorship for 2017. It will allow me to race more and gain experience, ultimately helping my career progress.

“I’ve got off to a slow start this year, but I’m generally happy with how my training is going and I’m looking forward to the summer season.”

The sponsorship is the latest in a string of community activity from Silentnight, which also supports Colne Cricket, Ghyll Junior Golf team and Barnoldswick Town Football Club.

The bedmaker also offered its support to last year’s Children in Need appeal in a partnership with BBC Radio Lancashire.

Nick Booth, marketing director at Silentnight, says: “Being able to support the local community is incredibly important to us at Silentnight; whether that’s sponsoring Colne Cricket Club’s scoreboard or being the headline sponsor of Barnoldswick Town FC.

“We’ve been following Amy’s progress for a number of years, so are really proud to be able to continue sponsoring her.

“Amy is an incredible athlete who has already achieved so much in her short career. We hope to continue to support her for many years to come.”
