Cookes Furniture aims for photo finish at Great Midlands Fun Run

With just two weeks to go until the Great Midlands Fun Run, the countdown is officially on and the Cookes Furniture team is gearing up for its photo finish.

To celebrate its 14th year as main sponsors of the Great Midlands Fun Run, Cookes Furniture has created a special edition, photo finish selfie frame for the popular 8.5 mile fun run.

Cookes will be leading its team of 60 runners across the finish line towards its giant selfie frame for a finish line photo, and is inviting everyone taking part in this year’s fun run to join in and have their very own finish line selfie captured.

Cooke’s professional photographer will be at the Great Midlands Fun Run to capture memorable moments on the day and will be encouraging fun-runners to step into the giant frame for a selfie. The two metre square photo finish frame will be available for selfie opportunities at the Cookes gazebo positioned near the finish line.

Vanessa Hoe, marketing director at Cookes, says: “We have always been proud sponsors of the Great Midlands Fun Run and this year we’ve decided to mark the occasion with a limited edition giant selfie frame. The fun run always proves to be such an enjoyable day out for family and friends with ample great photo opportunities so our aim this year is to help capture these memorable moments.

"In true Cookes tradition all four generations of our family-run business will be competing in the fun run. Whether you’re taking part in a pairs, with your furry friend or in large groups, our giant selfie frame has room in it for everyone. Pop along to our gazebo and have your moment captured. Last year more than £283,000 was raised, this year we are hoping to top that record."

Cookes, in conjunction with Sealy, is also sponsoring a prize draw for the Great Midlands Fun Run. Every participant who raises over £100 independently, or the equivalent as a team, will be entered into a prize draw to win a Sealy Teramo Which? Best Buy 5ft divan set with two drawers and headboard worth more than £2000.

The Midlands-based store has presented the Cookes Furniture commemorative medals at the finish line and has been a main sponsor of the popular 8.5 mile fun run since it began in 2003, helping to raise a grand total of £2.8m over the years.

The Great Midlands Fun Run sets off at 11am on Sunday 4th June.
