Parker Knoll champions National Apprenticeship Week

Now in its 10th year, National Apprenticeship Week brings together employers and apprentices alike from across England to celebrate the success of apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

This year, the event will seek to encourage even more people to choose apprenticeships as a fast-track to a career. British upholstery brand Parker Knoll offers an extensive apprenticeship programme, giving young people the chance to develop traditional artisan skills in both upholstery and classic furniture design.

Apprentices learn on the job, and courses are carefully tailored to cultivate tangible skills that will benefit the apprentices professionally for a lifetime. Many of the Parker Knoll apprentices go on to work for the brand, reinforcing the value of apprenticeships on the route to skilful employment.

With 148 years of furnituremaking experience, Parker Knoll has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon. While technology has advanced, the basic structure of sofas and chairs and the skills required to construct them have changed relatively little, highlighting the enduring nature that these talents hold in the face of an ever-changing job market.

The Upholstery Apprenticeship qualification course lasts for approximately 22 months.
