Rugby stars make special appearance at Sealy show

Leading bed manufacturer Sealy is celebrating the success of its latest Spring Show, held in May at Brooklands Museum in Surrey for the fifth year running. The most well-attended show to date, this year’s event also included a special appearance from Harlequin rugby stars, Sam Twomey and Matt Hopper.

The players trialled every one of the mattresses on display at the popular event, with the aim of finding one suited to their individual sleeping needs, to help them achieve the high quality rest they need to be at the top of their game. The company is gifting each player a new bed as part of its World of Sport campaign, which promotes the intrinsic link between sleep and sporting success.

It wasn’t just Tom and Matt’s attendance which made this year’s show a success - Sealy also displayed its full collection of products, with buyers able to trial a selection of never-before-seen mattresses three months ahead of the Telford show in September. There were also a number of exclusive offers for those who attended on the day.

Sealy is dedicated to helping customers all over the world achieve a deeper sleep, and the products on show are a key part of this mission. With collections including Ortho, the brand’s firmest collection of beds, the popular Posturepedic and Anniversary ranges on display on the day, buyers were spoilt for choice.

Buyers could also find out about Sealy’s popular Pocket collection which provides total spine alignment, and edge-to-edge support with the innovative Unicase design. This range includes the Teramo 1400, which was named “the best mattress tested in years” by consumer champion, Which? in June last year. It scored the highest when tested against 28 other products, and has quickly become a popular choice with consumers.

Neil Robinson, sales and marketing director at Sealy, says: “We’re extremely pleased with his year’s event. It was the most well-attended show we’ve hosted to date, with buyers travelling from across the UK to visit us at the Brooklands Museum. There were some familiar faces, and a few new people along the way and we would like to thank everyone for taking the time out to see us.

“Our new products were very well received, but you’ll have to wait a little longer to hear more about the innovative mattresses. It was fantastic to showcase our entire product collection for the fifth year running - we’re already making plans for next year!”

Harlequins player, Matt Hopper, says: “Getting a good night’s sleep is key to how well I play on the pitch, or even when I’m training at the gym. We have a busy training schedule ahead, so I’ll need to make sure I’m getting as much rest as possible during this time. It was great to be able to test all of the mattresses on display, and find the perfect one for us with the help of the Sealy team on stand.”

Sam and Matt are the latest stars to support the World of Sport campaign, the company is also working with weightlifting champion, Zoe Smith, Olympic snowboarder, Zoe Gillings-Brier, Ironman veteran Andrew Holgate and champion bodybuilder, Kim Wilson.
