Bensons for Beds re-opens in Carlisle following arson attack

Leading UK bed retailer Bensons for Beds has re-opened its Carlisle store after a devastating fire destroyed the building in 2013.

The blaze, believed to have been started deliberately, took six fire engines to extinguish and the entire roof of the building collapsed. Stock and electronic equipment were destroyed by the fire, with other areas suffering water damage from the efforts to dampen the flames.

The store has undergone a complete refurbishment and the brand has invested significant time and resources ensuring it is once again equipped to serve the needs of the area.  The new store will now employ four members of staff from the local area.

Neil Sears, regional manager at Bensons for Beds, says: “We are thrilled to announce the refurbishment of our Carlisle store following the devastating arson attach of 2013. We are committed to the local community and have therefore made a substantial investment in ensuring that the store could return to business as usual. We are looking forward to greeting new staff and welcoming back our loyal customers.”
