Land of Beds opens second Cheshire showroom

World Sleep Day marked the opening of a second Cheshire showroom for independent bed retailers, Land of Beds.

The third generation business, which won the High Sheriff of Cheshire’s Family Business Award of Excellence during Sleep Awareness Week, has opened a new premises at 14-16 Church Street, Frodsham.

The purpose-built showroom houses mattresses and beds made by the country’s leading manufacturers, including Breasley, Relyon, Sealy, the Fine Bedding Company, Slumberland, Dunlopillo and Hypnos Beds, which are accredited by the National Bed Federation.

“Our first customers enjoyed special in-store promotions and had the opportunity to ask our Sleep Experts lots of questions while browsing round our exciting new retail space,” says MD Mike Murray.

“The meteoric success of our e-commerce website www.landofbeds.co.uk has meant that not only have we created 20 more jobs for local people in just five years, we have been able to reinvest our profits in a 5000 sq ft distribution centre on Astmoor Industrial Estate in Runcorn. The plan is to open five more showrooms in addition to our stores in Helsby and now Frodsham by 2020.

“We had a fantastic first day of trading, with our 0% interest payment plans making it even more affordable for people to invest in a new mattress.

“We’re proud to contribute positively to the local Frodsham business community, as we have done so successfully in Helsby, and to bring our award-winning customer service experience to the village.”

Land of Beds’ new showroom will also be the company’s operational headquarters for its in-house ecommerce team, and offers meeting and conferencing facilities.
