London Fabric Show increases contract appeal

The BFM-hosted London Fabric Show 2016 – to be held on 29th February and 1st March at Chelsea F.C. Stamford Bridge – will include a greater offering for buyers of fabrics for the contract and hospitality sectors. The range of exhibitors has broadened and the selection of fabrics on show has widened.

Over 30 companies from Belgium, Spain, Italy, Turkey and the UK will show fabrics for both the domestic and contract markets. As well as fabrics for upholstery and soft furnishings there will be fabrics for mattresses, beds, wall coverings, carpets and rugs.

Belgian companies Beaulieu Fabrics, Greenstreet Fabrics, Muvantex, Symphony Mills, Tavelmo and Van Neder will bring fabrics specific to the contract and hospitality sectors, including new designs and colours for 2016.

Warwick Fabrics UK, will be showing new contract standard vinyls - Chesterfield and Marlborough.  FSN UK will show new flame-retardant velvets, high performance polyester fabrics, and 100% wool fabrics all suitable for the contact markets.

The UK’s Clarkson Textiles has new flame-retardant back coatings, which have applications for both the domestic and contract markets. They include new stain resist, anti-microbial coatings and a patented waterproof/Crib 5 application for healthcare and hospitality.

Turkish Adoksan supplies a wide variety of domestic and contract fabrics from its high-tech facility. The company will bring new jacquards and chenilles and will demonstrate its new flame-retardant coating system.

BFM MD Jackie Bazeley says: “We are delighted to be returning to the executive boxes of Chelsea FC for a second year. Both the quality of the fabrics on offer and the venue were a huge hit with buyers and visitors in February this year. We believe the 2016 show will have even greater appeal, with a wider range of companies and fabrics on show with application for both the domestic and contract markets. It’s a small show with a big punch.”
