Myakka comes out on top in the Good Shopping Guide

Somerset fair trade furniture and home accessories company Myakka has scored 100/100 in the Good Shopping Guide for the third year running, compiled by the Ethical Company Organisation (ECO).

The guide is the world's leading reference book on how to shop with confidence and a clear conscience, covering everything from banks to butter, washing machines to jeans.

The ECO indexes each company based on a number of factors including impact on the environment and human and animal rights.

The aim is to encourage companies and businesses to uphold high ethical standards by both highlighting the good practices whilst also underlining the more negative practices that need to change. Myakka received a perfect score, putting the company ahead of larger high-street retailers such as Homebase, John Lewis and B&Q.

Founder and director Georgie Hopkins says: “We work really hard to ensure that we trade fairly and ethically with openness and transparency – it is at the heart of what we do. So we’re thrilled and proud to have earned our place, once again, in the Good Shopping Guide, and with a perfect score."
