Mattressman develops Nook mattress to help raise charity funds

Retailer Mattressman has increased its fundraising efforts by working with the Nook Appeal this year. Run by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), The Nook Appeal aims to provide vital care and support for life-threatened children and their families by building a new children’s hospice, named Nook, in Norfolk.

Having already donated £10,000 to the charity up front, Mattressman is looking to reach its £25,000 goal to help build the hospice. In a bid to raise the money needed, Mattressman has created the Nook mattress. Made in the company’s factory in Norwich, the mattress is already in stock and being sold nationwide. A significant percentage of every Nook mattress that is sold goes to the charity fund.

Mattressman has 14 stores across the UK and is still expanding. The Nook mattress is sold in every store as well as online, and was heavily promoted at the Norfolk and Suffolk shows that Mattressman attended.

“The Nook Appeal is a fantastic cause that will make a real difference to people in the local community, and I’m very proud to be giving our support to the appeal this year,” says MD Andrew Kerry. “The team at Mattressman and I are putting our heads together and coming up with lots of exciting ideas for fundraising, and we’re looking forward to working with EACH over the coming months to help them make the Nook a reality.”
